⁵ It could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii,^[a] with the money given to the poor.” And they began to rebuke her sharply.

⁶ However, Jesus said, “Let her alone! Why are you bothering her? She has performed a good action toward me. ⁷ The poor you will always have with you, and you can show kindness to them whenever you wish, but you will not always have me.
